Although Mr. Nick and his wife, Julia, have three sons, he's really just a big kid. He likes to take walks in the park, make things, and munch popcorn.

He's been working with radio for nearly two-thirds of his life, starting as a high-school weekend volunteer at a Christ-centered radio station in San Francisco. "Those were the days," he remembers, "when I was even too young to drive.  I rode the bus two hours to get to the station--then two hours back."

When he grew older, his interest in mass media grew. He studied broadcasting and electronics in college, then began working at the station where he had volunteered as a high-schooler. He worked there for a year, then moved to network headquarters where he did an afternoon music program, as well as some news and public affairs.

His boss approached him about taking over a kids' program after Big Jon, the children's program host, passed away. "No," said young Mr. Nick, "I don't think I could." "Good," came the reply. "You can start Saturday." With that, JUST FOR US KIDS began and later, WE KIDS.

"The most important thing in life," says Mr. Nick, "is knowing God through His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible is clear when it says 'you must be born again.' I want people--especially kids--to know well there's no other way to live." He believes the best way to tell many people about this Good News is with radio.

One of the reasons Mr. Nick is sensitive to youngsters is because he was a young seven years of age when he received the Lord Jesus Christ. "I'd attended church with my family all my life.  I knew what the Bible says about sin and that I was headed away from God forever if there wasn't a change in my life. So one day I went into my bedroom, knelt down by my bed, and invited the Lord to take control of me, washing my heart cleaner than clean through His death on the cross."

His favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5 & 6:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will direct your paths.

Mr. Nick's favorite things to do are to be with his families. "I have four," he says. "God's family, our home-family, our church family, and my WE KIDS family. I hope we can all be together sometime."
